2022 Campus Safety Grant Program

Summary of Program

Ohio public colleges and universities are eligible for a total of $5 million in security grants as part of the 2022 Campus Safety Grant Program.

The Capital Budget, HB687 of the 134th General Assembly, provided the funds  for state institutions of higher education for eligible security improvements that assist the institutions in improving the overall physical security and safety of their buildings on public campuses throughout Ohio.

Campuses will work with experienced security, law enforcement, or military personnel to conduct a security and vulnerability assessment to identify potential areas for improvement. Applicants will use the results of this assessment to apply for funding for eligible security improvements from the Authorized Equipment List published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
